David Peek & Sam Grubbs once again take home the prize packs for the "Smallest Bag Weighed In". Of-course Sam promises it won't be this way on the Ohio River! |

I've always been curious as to why the team of Peek & Grubbs have the most "Smallest Bag Weighed In" finishes. Now we know the rest of the story! |
The last tournament for the Egypt winter division didn't pull as many boats as one would expect because of the make up tournament fished on the same day, but we pumped up the music, gave out sponsor awards and all had a great time. The day started out around 30 degrees and topped out a nice 61 with a gentle breeze.
The Team of Craig Cowan & Jason Estel took 1st place with 5 live fish totaling 13.35lbs which included the 1st Place Big Bass for the day landing them a total of $520.00 for the day. Their fish were caught on a combination of spinnerbaits, crankbaits & jigs on the north end of the lake in 2 - 10 ft of water
The team of Chris Bowen & Tim Clippard fishing for Ranger, Yamaha & Nameoki Village Marine pull into second with a stringer of 9.76lbs.
The team of Joe Quick & Brent Skrzekut pull out 3rd with 5 fish totaling 7.74lbs which included the tournament 2nd Place Big Bass. Joe and Brent also walked away with the Divisonal Points Champions in tow along with some merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods in Carbondale & Sam - Son Lures along with their $50.00 Big Bass check.
The team of David Peek & Sam Grubbs fishing for Sam-Sons Lures remained back-in their loved and secure "Smallest Bag Weighed In" finish with 5.47lbs and take 4th. David told me that his 3.27lb Largemouth grabbed a torpedo, not quite expected for a day that started out at 30 degrees. Sam and David received merchandise pack from Dick's Sporting Good for their finish.
And last but not least I would like to recognize one of my teams of dedicated anglers. Kevin Rogan & Scott Weaver drove all the way from the Richmond & Urbana Illinois to attend this tournament. This team is hearing impaired so extra attention was taken so they knew how everything worked and its this kind of dedication from my anglers that shows that SUPERBASS is and will always be the tournament series to be fishing. Thanks for becoming part of SUPERBASS guys.
I would like to say Thank You to all the anglers and our Sponsorsof this tournament for making this come together. (Dick's Sporting Goods, Crock-O-Gator Baits, The Bassin' Shack, Sam-Son Lures and SUPER 8 Motels)
