Terry Berkbigler helping getting everyones lunch ready after the tournament. Thanks Berky! |
The 2nd Ozark Division tournament at Norfork lake kicked off with the weather of 46 degrees and mostly clear skies. The day started cool with next to no wind, but gradually warmed to a high of 65 with just a slight breeze. It was a beautiful day on the lake but the bite was tough with the water almost 32' high which turn away most fisherman. Most of the fish caught fell prey to jerk baits, finess worms & jigs in the flooded brush & trees. At the end of the weigh in we all sat around and enjoyed campfire hotdogs and drinks and told fish stories. Thanks Guys for coming out!
Keith Newsom fishing for Wood Motor Co of Harrison, Mt. Valley Water of Mt. Home & SUPERBASS pulled in 1st place with 5 bass weighing in at 8.68lbs. Keith also hauled in the 1st Place Big Bass of 2.90lbs which increased his tournament total to $552.00. Keith was fishing jerk baits, finess worm and jigs around flooded brush in Panther Creek and main lake points.
The team of Westley Rogers & Galen Hollis fishing for Champion Boats, Center City Marine, Flash Market, Glenns Track Service, WR Transport & Advantage Wholesale locked down 2nd Place with 8.34lbs earning them a 50%-off award toward their next tournament.
The team of Andy Hale and Earl Erby bring in the 2nd Place Big Bass at 2.15lbs earning them the $48.00 award.
One of my staff teams Rod Bowersox & Terry Berkbigler fishing for Ranger Boats, Yamaha Outboards, Bryants Osage Outdoors, Shares Publications, F & I Services, Pure Fishing & SUPERBASS bring up the tail end of the weigh-in with 2.06lbs but received some Crock-O-Gator baits for their efforts. Thanks for everything guys! Rod, if you would have been in a Stratos or Charger you would have probably done better!
I would like to say Thank You to all the anglers and our Sponsors of this tournament (CROCK-O-GATOR Bait Co. & The Bassin' Shack, Norfork Lake Inn, Viper Lures & Rods & Eric's Elite Guide Service) for making this come together.
