SUPERBASS Tournament Series

Kaskaskia River Fisherman
There has been some debate as to whether to make the tournaments locking or non-locking. I try and run this tournament series with the philosophy of "Where Every Angler Counts". So, the first tournament on the Kaskaskia River on 6/21 we will put this subject to a vote.
So all fisherman this pertains to, be at the tournament June 21th and make your vote count!

SOUTHERN IL DIVISION

Eric Niswonger & Steven Kirk bring in a nice limit totaling 19.74lbs along with the 1st Place Big Bass of 5.62lbs.	Niswonger & Kirk cash in for 1st Place & 1st Place Big Bass to bring their total tournament winnings to $970.00.	Travis Cockburn and Chris Herman come up short by .39lbs taking 2nd Place with 19.35lbs and earn $250.00.

Josh Coppage & Larry Hastings bring a limit to the scales totaling 15.34lbs putting them in 3rd Place earning them a SUPERBASS 50% off award toward their next tournament.

Matt Crain & Shane Horn recieved a couple lure packs from Dick's Sporting Goods for their 13.00lb 5th Place finish.

Kevin Rogan & Scott Weaver bring in the 4.95lb 2nd Place Big Bass earning them a check for $110.00.

The third Southern IL Division tournament showed a most welcome increase in interest. The day started out at a cool 40 degrees and with the water a nice 54-60 degrees there was a very thick fog covering the lake. The take off scheduled for 6:30am got pushed back with safe conditions arriving at 8:15. Fish were caught on everything from spinnerbaits to jigs, jigs claiming the larger fish, in less than 5' of water.

The Team of Eric Niswonger & Steven Kirk took 1st place with 5 live fish totaling 19.74lbs which included the 5.62lb 1st Place Big Bass of the day landing them a total of $970.00 for the day. Their fish were caught on a combination of finesse baits in multiple areas of the lake but all fish were found shallow.

The team of Travis Cockburn & Chris Herman come up .39lbs short and end up with 2nd Place with a stringer of 19.35lbs earning them $250.00.

The team of Josh Coppage & Larry Hastings pull out 3rd with 5 fish totaling 15.34lbs. Josh and Larry earned a SUPERBASS 50%-off award toward their next tournament.

The team of Craig Cowan & Jason Estel came in 4th with 15.14lbs stringer, but since they were a staff team they wanted the next team to get the sponsored give-away prizes this time. So the team of Matt Crain & Shane Horn received lure packs from Dick's Sporting Goods for their 13lb 5th Place finish.

Kevin Rogan & Scott Weaver brought the 2nd Place Big Bass to the scales which earned them $110.00.

Many other members randomly received assorted lures at the conclusion of the weigh-in donated by Dick's Sporting Goods of Carbondale. I would like to issue a special thanks to Dick's Sporting Goods of Carbondale for their support of our circuit this year.
